Thank you so much for your kind review and for trusting Millennium Dental and Aesthetics.
Traditional dentures have been around for centuries, and for good reason — they work. But “works” and “works well” are different things. If you’ve worn conventional dentures for any amount of time, you already know the gap between those two. Implant dentures close it.
Implant dentures are a type of full arch restoration that uses dental implants anchored in the jawbone to support a denture. The implants act as artificial roots — they go into the bone, fuse with it over time, and give the denture something solid to attach to. Depending on the setup, a tooth denture implant system can be either removable or permanently fixed — more on that below.
That’s the fundamental difference from conventional removable dentures, which rest directly on the gum tissue. Gum tissue shifts. Bone doesn’t — at least not when there are implants in it keeping it stimulated. Conventional dentures rely on suction, adhesives, and the shape of the jaw to stay in place. Implant-supported dentures rely on titanium posts embedded in the bone. The stability difference is significant and noticeable from day one.
For patients who’ve struggled with dentures that slip during meals or make speaking feel like a performance, the switch to implant-supported options tends to feel like a straightforward upgrade. Function improves. Confidence improves. The constant background awareness of “are my teeth staying in place right now” goes away.

Not all implant dentures work the same way, and there’s more than one setup worth knowing about.
Removable implant dentures — sometimes called snap-on or overdentures — attach to implants using small connectors that click into place. They’re stable during use but can still be removed for cleaning. Most patients find them dramatically more secure than conventional dentures while still being easy to maintain at home. This is often the most accessible entry point for patients transitioning from traditional dentures.
Semi-permanent and fixed options go further. Fixed dentures with implants are screwed into the implant posts and stay in the mouth permanently — only a dentist removes them for maintenance. These feel the closest to natural teeth of any denture-based solution.
The right choice depends on your bone structure, how many implants are feasible, your budget, and what you actually want day-to-day. At Millennium Dental Clinic, the plan gets built around those specifics — not around what’s easiest to offer. Some patients are good candidates for a two-implant overdenture; others benefit from a four or six-implant fixed setup. The consultation is where that gets sorted out.
The price for implant dentures varies more than most patients expect, and the range is wide enough that ballpark figures aren’t particularly useful without context.
The cost for denture implants depends on three main things: how many implants are being placed, what type of attachment system is used, and the materials the denture itself is made from. A two-implant snap-on overdenture costs considerably less than a six-implant fixed full arch restoration. Both are legitimate options — they just serve different needs and come at different price points.
The cost of permanent denture implants in the U.S. typically starts around $3,500 to $5,000 for a basic implant-retained overdenture and can reach $25,000 or more for a full fixed arch with a higher implant count and premium materials. Most patients fall somewhere in the middle depending on their case. For patients specifically comparing denture dental implants against conventional options, the price difference shrinks when you factor in the ongoing cost of relines, repairs, and replacements that traditional dentures require.
Bone condition matters here too. If significant bone loss has occurred — which is common in patients who’ve worn conventional dentures for years — grafting may be needed before implants can be placed. That affects both cost and timeline.
What’s worth considering is what you’re comparing against. Conventional dentures need to be relined, repaired, and eventually replaced as the jaw changes shape over time. Permanent dentures implant restorations, with proper care, can last 15 to 20 years or more, and they slow the bone loss that makes conventional dentures fit worse and worse over the years. The long-term math often favors implants.
During your consultation at Millennium Dental Clinic, you’ll receive a clear, itemized cost breakdown based on your specific case — not a range, an actual number.
Coverage varies by plan. Some dental insurance policies cover part of the prosthetic component — the denture itself — but exclude the surgical placement of implants. Others cover neither. A small number of plans offer meaningful partial coverage for implant-supported restorations, particularly when tooth loss is connected to medical conditions.
Millennium Dental Clinic doesn’t bill insurance directly, but our Insurance Assurance program helps patients get the most out of whatever benefits they have. Bring your dental insurance card to your consultation and we’ll work through what applies.
For the remainder, we work with third-party financing partners who offer monthly payment plans at competitive rates. The goal is to make dental implants for full dentures accessible without requiring a single large upfront payment.
The consultation is the right place to start. You leave with real numbers and a real plan.
The case for implant-supported dentures over conventional ones comes down to a few practical differences that matter in daily life.
Secure fit without shifting. Fix dentures implants to the bone and they stay there. No adhesives, no mid-meal adjustments, no embarrassing moments.
Comfort while chewing and speaking. Conventional dentures reduce biting force significantly. Implant-supported dentures restore much of that function. Most patients can eat foods they’d given up on — steak, apples, crusty bread.
Improved aesthetics. A denture that fits properly and doesn’t move looks better. It also allows for a more natural tooth arrangement because the design isn’t constrained by the need for maximum suction.
Reduced pressure on the gums. Conventional dentures transfer all chewing force to the gum tissue. Implants redirect that force into the bone, where it belongs. Less soreness, less tissue irritation over time.
Longer lifespan. Dental dentures implant restorations last significantly longer than conventional dentures — and unlike conventional dentures, they don’t accelerate the bone loss that changes the shape of your jaw over the years.
The dental implants procedure for dentures starts with a thorough evaluation. Your team will take X-rays and CT scans to assess your bone volume and jaw structure — particularly important for patients who’ve worn conventional dentures for years, since bone loss is common in that population. A personalized treatment plan gets built from that data. You’ll know exactly what’s involved before anything is scheduled.
If preparatory work is needed — extractions, bone grafting, or tissue management — that happens before implant placement. Your team will be upfront about whether that applies to your case and what it adds to the timeline.
The titanium posts are placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia. For dental implants for bottom dentures or lower arch restorations, the procedure tends to be more straightforward than upper arch work, since lower jaw bone density is typically better preserved. Full upper arch cases are also handled routinely and follow the same general process. Most patients are surprised by how manageable the recovery is — a few days of mild soreness and swelling, manageable with over-the-counter medication.
A temporary denture keeps things functional during the healing period while the implants fuse with the bone.
Once the implants are stable — usually after a few months — the final denture is attached. For snap-on designs, the connectors are fitted and the patient learns the attachment and removal process. For fixed restorations, the prosthesis is screwed into place and that’s it. At that point, treatment is complete.

I had such an amazing experience at MD Dental / Millennium Dental. The entire team is incredibly caring, professional, friendly, and attentive. I’ve done teeth whitening, root canal treatment/cleaning under a microscope, crowns, extraction of 2 teeth, and I’m currently also doing 3 implants with Dr. Santiago — and every step of the process has been excellent.
Fantastic experience doing my very first ZOOM Whitening. The team was amazing and Tamara the dental hygienist is wonderful and did a fantastic cleaning. This is a hidden gem. I highly recommend this office.
